Surgeon General's new report on oral health needs public input: Webinar Jan. 10

Mark your calendars: The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research will host a webinar on Thursday, Jan. 10 from 10–10:30 a.m. MST to update the public on the status of the new Surgeon General’s report on oral health and to request public input in developing the report. No registration is required, and the webinar will be recorded and archived for future viewing. You can view the Federal Register Notice for the webinar here, and the link to the webinar will be available here when it is made available.

Presentations from Day 1 of the Surgeon General’s Listening Session on Oral Health held on Nov. 26 and 27 are now available on the Department of Health and Human Services’ YouTube site and may be viewed here. CDC’s Division of Oral Health is currently developing a summary report on messages and themes heard at the Listening Session. Presenters included Dr. Caswell Evans, Dr. Gina Thornton-Evans, Dr. Margherita Fontana, Dr. Linda Niessen, Dr. Raul Garcia, Dr. Scott Tomar, CAPT RenĂ©e Joskow, and Dr. Rena D’Souza.

The Listening Session was a kickoff for the next Surgeon General's Report on Oral Health. The last report was published in 2000, Oral Health in America: A Report of the Surgeon General -  #SGoralhealthreport
