Colorado Wants Hospitals To Practice What They Preach When It Comes To Junk Food

by John Daley, Health Reporter, Colorado Public Radio

The Colorado Healthy Hospital Compact has grown to twenty-five hospitals, roughly a quarter of the state’s 100 or so facilities. Partner hospitals in the Compact are promoting healthier food, beverages and breastfeeding in an effort to improve the health and lives of patients, visitors and staff.

Katie O'Connor is Health Promotion Programs Manager at Children's Hospital Colorado. Children's cut out sugary beverages and replaced them with bottled water and small containers of 100 percent fruit juice.
