May is National Stroke Awareness Month AND Blood Pressure Awareness Month
Did you know most strokes are preventable?
The most controllable risk factor is high blood pressure so know your numbers because it may just save your life.
May is Measurement Month. Friends and family can encourage their loved ones to get their checked and to talk about family history of high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Join @American_Stroke for a nationwide #StrokeTalk, on May 9 at 11 am MT or take a look at resources in English and Spanish from the American Stroke Association.
Providers can be a part of stroke prevention by hosting a blood pressure screening event. Learn more about this opportunity from the International Society of Hypertension or check out Stroke Awareness Month tools and materials.
