New Guide on HIT for Clinics

Health care practices across the country are seeing the benefits of EHR patient portal implementation: more effective delivery of care; reduced burden on office staff; and informed, engaged patients.

Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) just released an online tool, the Patient Engagement Playbook, for doctors, nurses, other clinicians, practice staff, hospital administrators and others who wish to leverage health IT to actively engage patients in their health and care.

Use this playbook to help you:
  • Facilitate easy enrollment to achieve greater portal adoption
  • Meet patient needs online — while also streamlining practice workflow
  • Involve caregivers in an appropriate way
  • Integrate patient-generated health data to improve clinical decision-making and care
