Denver Environmental Health’s Community Active Living Coalition (CALC), celebrates its one-year anniversary on June 21 with a free exhibit showcasing the PhotoVoices project. The PhotoVoices project shines a light on resident experiences as they reflect on what it is like to live, work and play in Denver neighborhoods. The exhibit addresses a range of subjects that impact health, active living and transportation including parks, bus stations, street, playgrounds and intersections.
CALC is a grantee of the state Cancer, Cardiovascular and Chronic Pulmonary Disease (CCPD) program. On June 21, CALC also will also recognize community volunteers, award local youth participants in the Healthy Eating, Active Living & Tobacco-free Lives Coalition and announce the three winning teams of its Data Collection Challenge.
The June 21 PhotoVoices Expo kick-off event is from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Wellington Webb Municipal Building located at 201 E. Colfax in downtown Denver. The photo exhibit will be on display in the atrium through June 24 between 8 am and 4:30 pm.
