Be Brave. . .Support Suicide Prevention

In 2014 (the most recent year that data is available), suicide claimed 1058 lives in Colorado. This number represents more than twice the number of people who died in automobile accidents, and significantly more than lost their lives in homicides. Suicide is a serious and preventable public health crisis that leaves many family members and friends heartbroken, often with unanswered questions. We must not accept these lives lost to suicide as inevitable. We do need to recognize what we as individuals can do to prevent these deaths.

Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council has more information on data, warning signs and reaching out to prevent suicide.
