New National Diabetes Prevention Program Curriculum and Resources

The CDC’s National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) has just released the new PreventT2 curriculum. It is offered in both Spanish and English. The program is based on the original Diabetes Prevention Program trial and follow-up studies for the prevention of type 2 diabetes (T2). The new curriculum still promotes losing 5%-7% body weight and increasing physical activity through a 12 month lifestyle change program.

The CDC wanted to provide the additional approved curriculum at no cost in order to increase the number of organizations offering the program. The PreventT2 curriculum reflects new literature on self-efficacy, physical activity, and diet.
