LiveWell Colorado names new President and CEO

After an extensive national search, the board of directors of LiveWell Colorado has selected Shepard Nevel to serve as LiveWell Colorado's new chief executive officer. With a career that has spanned the health, nonprofit, policy and legal sectors, Shepard brings a wide variety of strong relationships in both the public and private sectors across the state and nation to our nonprofit organization.

Prior to joining LiveWell Colorado, Shepard was the vice president of policy, evaluation and communications for the Colorado Health Foundation. He joined the Colorado Health Foundation in 2007 as the vice president of operations, a role that encompassed grants management, information technology, facilities, and evaluation and management of the Colorado Center for Medical Laboratory Science, one of the largest schools of medical laboratory science in the Rocky Mountain region.

"Shepard is an accomplished executive with the breadth of experience and track record of success that will lend itself to his ability to lead LiveWell Colorado in the next phase of its journey," says John Hopkins, board chair for LiveWell Colorado. "His knowledge, experience and passion, along with a commitment to working with essential partners, will allow our organization to continue to change the course of obesity in Colorado and establish the state as a national model."
