El Paso County Health names new director

The El Paso County Board of Health on Tuesday unanimously appointed Dan Martindale to the position of El Paso County Public Health Director.

Martindale served as the interim public health director since July 2014 following the departure of Public Health Director Jill Law. Law served as director from 2012-14. Martindale was previously the agency’s deputy director, and has more than 30 years of experience in public health and non-profit management.

“I look forward to continuing to work with the Board of Health, our highly skilled staff, as well as expanding our community partnerships to meet the public health needs of El Paso County residents,” Martindale said.
He holds a Masters in Public Administration degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and has held numerous management and director level positions with El Paso County Public Health in his nearly 20 years with the agency.

“With more than 30 years of experience in public health, Mr. Martindale is not only highly skilled but also a demonstrated community leader. His leadership and experience will support the agency’s mission and vision, and we are very pleased to welcome him to this new role,” said Kari Kilroy, president of the Board of Health.
