New CEO for LiveWell Colorado





John Hopkins, the Chair of the Board of LiveWell Colorado, announced today (7-17) that the  Board of Directors has selected  Shepard Nevel as LiveWell Colorado’s new chief executive officer, effective August 11, 2014. He said that the LiveWell Colorado team, together with its many partners, has made tremendous progress in building a culture of healthy eating and active living since the organization’s founding just five years ago. He called Shepard   "a seasoned executive with the values, experience and passion to build on the progress that has been made to date and to lead LiveWell Colorado in the next phase of its journey."

For the past seven years, Shepard has been with the Colorado Health Foundation where he currently holds the role of vice president of policy, evaluation and communications, and previously was the vice president of operations. Shepard’s previous positions include president and CEO of Jovian P4 LLC; director of policy for Denver Mayor Wellington E. Webb; executive director of the Denver Workforce Region; and assistant county attorney in Miami-Dade County. He serves as a board member of the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District, co-chair of the Denver Chamber of Commerce’s Healthcare Committee, a member of the President’s Leadership Council of the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, and is immediate past chair of Colorado Bright Beginnings.
