Join the Tour de Cure to help prevent diabetes

The American Diabetes Association is challenging riders to join the Stop Diabetes® movement by taking part in the annual Tour de Cure® Colorado Aug. 16 at the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont to help raise funds to change the future of diabetes and help stop this devastating disease that now effects 29.1 million Americans, or 9.3% of the population.

The recent CDC 2014 National Diabetes Statistics Report shows that the number of cases of diabetes and prediabetes among Americans of all ages and ethnicities continues to increase, underscoring the continuing crisis this disease presents for Americans and the importance of our mission to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Tour de Cure Colorado is designed for anyone from the occasional to the experienced cyclist. The route will feature rest stops with food to fuel the journey and volunteers to cheer riders on. Cyclists from around the region will gather at one of four routes to participate in the event. Routes include: 20K Family Friendly, 50K, 100K and 100M cycling routes.

To participate in Tour de Cure Colorado as a cyclist or a volunteer please visit www.diabetes.org/coloradotourdecure.
