Million Hearts Colorado: Join the Denver Heart Walk on June 7!

Research shows helping people get to the age of 50 with no cardiovascular risk factors can lower heart disease and stroke to as little as 5-8% as well as extend life-span and enhance the quality of life. More than an event, the Heart Walk is an experience and celebration with activities and resources aimed at helping participants take the next step in improving their heart health. It promotes the health benefits of increased physical activity in a fun family environment, brings communities together to celebrate the progress in the fight against cardiovascular diseases and stroke, our nations #1 and #4 killers, and raises vital funds to support the AHA’s life-saving mission.

Last year, the American Heart Association’s Denver Heart Walk brought 17,000 walkers together to raise more than $2.5 million. Thanks to the leadership in the Denver business community, the Denver Heart Walk is the #3 Heart Walk in the nation.

This year, on Saturday, June 7, 2014, let's make Denver #1! This is a noncompetitive 3 mile or 1 mile walk beginning at the Denver Performing Arts Complex and winding through downtown. Join participants from over 100 Denver area companies and individual participants along with their friends and families for fun activities that promote walking as part of a healthy lifestyle while also raising funds to support cardiovascular research and educational programs for the Denver area. Visit www.denverheartwalk.org for more information or contact Courtney Wilson, at 303-996-8731 or courtney.wilson@heart.org.

Participate in the Heart Walk and help save lives!

The American Heart Association is a partner in the Colorado Million Hearts Initiative, an effort to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes over five years. You can participate too. Be one in a million - make your commitment and pledge today.
