Healthy Kids Colorado Survey Update

This past fall, 221 schools from over 100 districts participated in the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey as part of the state-funded sample supported by the University of Colorado Denver (UCD). Approximately 130 additional schools participated as part of a local-level administration or from requests to over-sample (outside of the state-funded sample) supported by both UCD and OMNI Institute. Nearly 40,000 students completed the survey as part of the state-funded random sample and thousands of additional surveys were completed with local-level administrations.

The state-funded sample included sub-samples for the CDC Youth Risk Behavior Survey, the 21 Health Statistics Regions, Alternative Schools and Native American youth. For the Health Statistics regions, the majority regions have at least 400 completes for middle school and for high school. Currently, UCD is in the analysis and synthesis stage and CDPHE will have initial data sets available in late June and additional reports will be shared in the summer and early fall.
