Recruiting for state advisory committee on pregnancy-related depression

The Maternal Wellness Program at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is currently recruiting new committee members for its Pregnancy-Related Depression State Advisory Committee.

Pregnancy-related depression occurs during pregnancy or up to one year after giving birth or suffering a pregnancy loss. In Colorado, nearly one in every nine women who give birth will experience signs and symptoms of depression, making it the most common complication of pregnancy.

The Maternal Wellness Team is responsible for implementing the state's efforts to address pregnancy-related depression and relies on the Pregnancy-Related Depression State Advisory Committee to provide guidance and oversight to its work.
