- Cervical cancer is highly preventable with regular screening tests and follow-up. A vaccine, recommended for girls and boys aged 11–12 years, protects against the most common cause of cervical cancer, human papillomavirus (HPV).
- In Colorado, 82 percent of women aged 21–65 years had a Pap test within the past three years.1 This percentage is lower among women with lower income and education levels.
