Help shape Colorado's school-level health & wellness data collection system!

Join your colleagues and provide input to shape Colorado's school-level health and wellness data collection system!  The Colorado Legacy Foundation will hold regional feedback sessions in order to learn from you and other key stakeholders to inform this new effort, the first of which will be held in Durango.

Thursday, October 3, 2013
8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Durango School District 9-R Board Room
201 E 12th St, Durango, CO

The Colorado Legacy Foundation, in partnership with the Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, was recently awarded a 5-year grant from Kaiser Permanente to create the infrastructure to measure, track and better understand the health-related policies and practices being implemented in Colorado schools and districts. This effort complements the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey, which is a coordinated approach to collect student health data.

This system aims to reduce the burden on schools that are asked to participate in multiple data collection efforts related to health and wellness by better streamlining the data collection process and making the data available in a central location. At the same time, this system will be a useful resource for schools and districts to collect their own information in regard to school health efforts to celebrate successes, identify student needs, set priorities and leverage resources in a meaningful manner.

Purpose of event:
  •         To provide background information about a new effort to collect better information about what schools are doing to support health and wellness.
  •         To obtain feedback about health categories, adequate number of indicators, barriers and opportunities for participation.
  •         To identify possible schools and districts willing to participate in a pilot project in 2014.

Additional Details:

Travel and substitute reimbursement available. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Breakfast will be available starting at 8:30 with the actual session starting at 9:00 a.m.

Please RSVP to Holly Leder at to secure your spot.
