A dedicated bike lane will open along 15th Street in downtown
Denver on Thursday, part of the Bikeway pilot plan, designed to keep bikes out
of fast-moving vehicle traffic. It is
meant to help avoid confusion for car drivers by keeping bikes in one
lane. The main message is for motorists
to look left, says Emily Snyder, manager of Denver Public Works’ Bicycle
Pedestrian Project.
The concept of the 15th Street Bikeway could be
used on other high-traffic Denver streets, so traffic managers are asking for
feedback. If you use the new bike lane,
you can provide feedback at denvergov.org/bikeprogram For more information, please contact Susan Motika or Don Sutton.
