PRESENTATION OBJECTIVES:
Participants will be aware of the impact regular physical activity has on preventing conversion from pre diabetes to diabetes. Participants will be able to make recommendations to their clients/patients on how to integrate physical activity into their treatment.
Presenter Biography

Brett McIff, PhD
Utah Dept of Health
Brett has worked in physical activity promotion for over 15 years, working in a variety of fields from personal training to policy development. He received his undergraduate degree at the University of Utah in Exercise and Sport Science. His graduate work continued with a Master of Science in Public Health and a Ph.D. in Public Health at Walden University. Brett's dissertation focused on the role of perception of the built environment among 4ththrough 6th grade students and their parents in physical activity participation, with a focus on making a connection between public health and urban planning. Brett works with several boards and committees at the national, state, and local levels to promote environments that encourage regular physical activity. He currently coordinates the Community Transformation Program at the Utah Department of Health.

Take the pre-test before the program and the post-test after to qualify for a certificate of your participation. Pre- and post tests will be emailed to registrants and posted on the Utah Diabetes Telehealth Series Siteprior to the live event.
