CDC recruiting for 2014 Tips campaign

Tips from Former Smokers logoThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Office on Smoking and Health is recruiting individuals to feature in the next wave of CDC’s national tobacco education campaign. This 2014 campaign will be very similar to the highly-successful Tips From Former Smokers ads and enable the CDC to highlight health conditions that we weren’t able to feature in the previous Tips campaigns.

Like the earlier Tips efforts, the 2014 campaign will feature real people who suffered severe health conditions caused directly by smoking or who have lost a family member from a smoking-related condition. All applicants must be tobacco-free for at least 6 months. Further information about who the CDC is looking for, participation terms, and compensation can be found in this flyer (or in Spanish); please use these to promote recruitment.

As a partner in tobacco control, if you know of any people whom you feel would be a good candidate for this campaign, we would appreciate it if you would pass their contact information on to the Recruitment Director, Mimi Webb Miller, at or (855) 332-7277. As with the previous campaign efforts, you can be assured anyone you refer to the CDC will be treated with respect and sensitivity.
