Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program (AFEP) Instructor Training available from the Arthritis Foundation

Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program Instructor Training
Saturday, September 21st from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.


The Arthritis Foundation/Great West Region is offering an instructor training class in the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program (AFEP). The AFEP is a community-based group recreational exercise program that can be modified to accommodate the different capabilities of people with arthritis. Activities include endurance-building activities, balance exercises, relaxation techniques and health education segments.

The AFEP has evidence-base to improve functional ability, self-confidence, mobility, muscle strength and coordination. The instructor training is one day on Saturday, September 21st from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Also, the Arthritis Foundation will offer an instructor training for their Aquatic Program on Friday, October 18th in Denver. This program is similar to the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program, but classes are held in warm water pools.
