Colorado Health Service Corps Rewards Doctors Who Practice in Underserved Areas

The Colorado Health Service Corps Advisory Council met on May 10, 2013 to make awards of approximately $1.7 million to 29 health professionals across the state. Since the administration of the program was taken over by the Primary Care Office (PSD) in 2009, it has become one of the largest state loan repayment programs in the country, awarding approximately $14 million to over 200 eligible providers working in Colorado's health professional shortage areas.
