State Health Offering Summer Internships in Early Childhood Obesity Prevention

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment announces an opportunity for an unpaid summer internship (July 2013-September 2013) for a student pursuing a master’s level degree related to public health or nutrition in the Early Childhood Obesity Prevention Unit of the Prevention Services Division. The experience will feature projects related to the following:
  • Breastfeeding policy in the Colorado WIC Program
  • Early childhood obesity prevention literature review
  • The Colorado Child and Adult Care Food Program Healthier Meals Initiative
  • Early childhood obesity prevention messaging
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop competencies related to policy writing, reviewing and rating the literature, designing a survey tool, conducting key informant interviews and public health writing for target audiences.
