New Colorado Patient Navigator Training Offered

Denver Prevention Training Center is offering a two-day course April 16-17 designed for Patient Navigators who assist patients diagnosed with or at risk for chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular or pulmonary disease. The training provides participants with a working knowledge of several behavioral and social science theories, the determinants of risk from those theories, and links them to prevention interventions in an interactive and applied manner. The course includes exercises in understanding the factors that influence behavior; an overview of the different levels of interventions; the introduction of a framework to link theory, behavioral determinants and interventions; and small group work to strengthen skills learned in the course.
