Webinar from HRSA on "Using an EHR and Quality Data to Improve Hypertension"

Register now for the Health Resources and Services Administration's (HRSA) “Using an EHR and Quality Data to Improve Hypertension” on Friday, February 22, 2013, 12:00 noon, mountain time.

In recognition of “National Heart Month,” in February, this webinar will focus on how safety net providers can utilize health information technology (HIT) to improve health outcomes in patients with hypertension. Hypertension is a significant risk factor that contributes to major health complications, including cardiovascular disease, a leading cause of death in the United States.

Hypertension control is a core clinical quality measure in the Meaningful Use incentive program and also a priority within the National Quality Strategy, Healthy People 2020, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ “Million Hearts” campaign. Presenters for this webinar are safety net providers from rural inpatient and community health center settings, who will share their best practices for helping patients control their hypertension.
Hypertension (high blood pressure) management is a key strategy of the  Million Hearts Initiative, an effort to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes over five years.  Colorado participates in this initiative and you can too. Be one in a million - make your commitment and pledge today.
