Seminar on Poverty and Self-Sufficiency

Colorado School of Public Health

Tracey Stewart, Family Economic Security Program Manager, Colorado Center on Law & Policy will present a seminar on Poverty and Self-Sufficiency Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Anschutz Medical Campus.  


Ms. Stewart will present how poverty is currently measured in Colorado and the limitations
to the formula used. She will describe an self-sufficiency and the elder index as an alternative measurement supported by family advocacy organizations around the country. These
measures more accurately and appropriately identify the actual income needed for families
and elders to achieve self-sufficiency.
