Summit County Public Health does Myth Buster Video on Community Water Fluoridation

Summit county public health has created a Myth Buster series to address a variety of public health myths, including the safety and efficacy of community water fluoridation. Community water fluoridation costs about $1 - $3 per person per year, saves $61 in dental costs per per per year and reduces tooth decay in a community by at least 25 percent. These benefits spread across every member of the community, regardless of income, race or age.

Despite these overwhelming benefits and more than 65 years of research show how safe and effective community water fluoridation is, the fluoridation controversy continues. Summit County, finding itself barraged by bad science and misinformation, decided to put together a Community Water Fluoridation Myth Buster video to set the record straight.
