Pueblo Becomes Fifth Colorado City to License Tobacco Shops

This week, Pueblo became the fifth city in Colorado to enact an ordinance requiring a license for retail businesses that sell non-cigarette tobacco, including smokeless tobacco, hookah, and e-cigarettes. Proponents argued the ordinance would protect Pueblo teens. Opponents argued against additional costs and regulations on businesses. The ordinance goes into effect March 1.
Pueblo joins Steamboat Springs, Fountain, Manitou Springs and Golden in enacting tobacco retail license ordinances to reduce illegal tobacco sales to minors.
