Colorado WIC Recruiting Nutrition Consultant

The Prevention Services Division is currently recruiting for a Colorado WIC Program Nutrition Consultant. The purpose of this position is to provide ongoing administrative, clinical and technical consultation to local agency WIC programs to ensure that appropriate, efficient and comprehensive WIC services are provided within available resources using federal and state regulations and latest nutrition research as a guide. 

Additionally, the person in this position functions as Colorado WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program Coordinator Consultant. This is an HP III position with special qualifications for Registered Dietitian.  

The Colorado WIC Program exists to administer the federally funded Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) by providing administration and food dollars to county nursing services, community health centers, and public health departments. Colorado WIC is responsible/or establishing and operating a food assistance system and providing funding of local WIC program administration, nutrition education, and fiscal management. The nutrition unit promotes the provision of quality nutrition services education to eligible women, infants and children.
