CDPHE Leaders Volunteer for Cancer Study

Chris Urbina and Chris Lindley volunteer for cancer study.

What if you could prevent even one family from hearing the words “you have cancer”? What if you could help save lives from cancer and give people more time with family and friends, to help create a world with more memories, more celebrations…and more birthdays.

The American Cancer Society recruited volunteers age 30 - 65 years who had never been diagnosed with cancers for its Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). ACS officials hope  study participants will help determine how lifestyle, genetics and the environment affect cancer, and how we can better prevent the disease.

Dr. Chris Urbina, executive director of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and Chris Lindley, director of CDPHE's Prevention Services Division, completed the 30-minute enrollment interview and encouraged others to participate.
