Community Champions Needed to Recruit Participants for Landmark Cancer Research

This year, Denver Metro Area  communities, including Denver, Aurora, Boulder, Highlands Ranch, Lafayette, Lakewood, Parker and Westminster, will have the unique opportunity to participate in a landmark cancer research study, Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3), on Oct. 26 and 27 and during the week of November 13-17.

The American Cancer Society is recruiting men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 years who have never been diagnosed with cancer for the research study. The study will help researchers better understand the lifestyle, environmental and genetic factors that may cause or prevent cancer. The ACS goal is to enroll 2,200 people in the Denver metro area.

You can help by serving as a Community Champion and recruiting 10 or more people to enroll in the study (14 locations are available to enroll). The initial CPS-3 Community Champion kickoff event is set for Thursday, Sept. 20 at 5:30 p.m. at Blake Street Tavern.
