This webcast addresses Healthy People 2020's oral health objectives for adolescents. Members of this age group have a wide array of oral health problems, many of which are related to their growing independence and participation in high-risk behaviors. Yet only 57% have used the oral health care system during the past 12 months. The webcast explores important adolescent oral conditions, including, for example, dental decay, emerging periodontal disease, and trauma; discusses adolescents' access to and use of oral health services; and introduces school-based strategies for improving the oral health of adolescents.
