Maternal and Child Health 2012 Priorities

The Maternal and Child Health (MCH) program at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) released a 2012 program update, a matrix of MCH priorities chosen by local public health agencies and a new Children and Youth Branch organizational chart.

Thank you to all LPHAs that worked on the fiscal year 2012-13 plans, budgets and budget narratives during the past several months. We realize this required an intensive effort by many local partners given the
significant changes within MCH during the past year. We appreciate local public health's ongoing commitment to planning and implementing high quality programs and services for the women, children and families of Colorado.

State MCH Implementation Teams (MITs) have begun implementing MCH Priority state action
plans. We are very excited for local implementation to begin in October so that we can realize the
synergy resulting from coordination and collaboration between state and local action plans. Please note, those agencies whose MCH funds are administered by the Office of Planning and Partnerships will make their selections Aug. 15. The final version of the matrix will be posted on the MCH web page.

As always, please contact any one of the MCH Team members with questions and input.
