Skin Cancer Experts Warn of Summer Sun and Tanning Booths

Memorial Day is the start of summer recreation for many Coloradans. May is National Skin Cancer Awareness Month and tomorrow is "No Fry Day." Both are efforts to raise awareness of the dangers of skin cancer and overexposure to damaging ultraviolet (UV) rays. Coloradans are especially vulnerable because of our mile high altitude and abundant sunshine.
With this in mind - and in light of the national controversy created by the "Tanning Mom" controversy - 5280 Magazine's Wellness blog takes a look at the science and legislation surrounding tanning booth restrictions.
Please read the blog HERE and keep an eye out for an upcoming "Sun Safety Event" at the Denver Botanic Gardens on June 9.
