CDC Provides Outreach Tools for Stroke Awareness Month

May is High Blood Pressure Education Month and Stroke Awareness Month.

This month’s observances are an excellent opportunity to conduct outreach and remind Americans how to control their blood pressure and reduce their risk for stroke. Each year, nearly 800,000 strokes occur in the United States, and studies have shown high blood pressure levels can contribute to the risk for stroke.

As part of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention educational efforts, we want to continue to work with you to help promote the small changes that can lead to a healthier lifestyle.  Below you will find tools to help you spread the word during this important month. A new Interactive Atlas is featured in the release. This should be a useful tool in monitoring cardiovascular disease at the local level. To learn more about the interactive Atlas go to http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/DHDSPAtlas.

Thank you for helping us spread this lifesaving information during Stroke Awareness Month and High Blood Pressure Education Month. We look forward to your participation.
