Cancer, Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Disease Grant Program Review Committee Seeks Members

The Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease and Pulmonary Disease Grant Program, on behalf of the Colorado Board of Health, is currently seeking applicants for two positions.

The Cancer, Cardiovascular Disease and Pulmonary Disease Grant Program is a the statutorily-mandated Review Committee. Applicants are being sought for two positions who represent one of the following:
  • Recognized expert in health disparities 
  • Public health professional 
 The CCPD Review Committee is a 16-member working advisory board created to oversee program strategies, review grant applications and make funding recommendations to the Colorado Board of Health for a competitive grants program established with a portion of the state's tobacco excise tax revenue. The purpose is to fund competitive grants that provide a cohesive approach to cancer, cardiovascular disease and chronic pulmonary disease prevention, early detection and treatment in Colorado.

The CCPD Review Committee meets on the second Friday of each month, from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m. Additional time commitments may be required of committee members during the grant review process each year. Additional time for ad hoc committee assignments may be needed on occasion. Members serve without compensation, but will be reimbursed for travel expenses.

Applications are due June 1, 2012. The current members of the Review Committee will review applications and make recommendations for these positions to the Colorado Board of Health.
