PSD Hiring a Local Implementation Unit Manager

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) Prevention Services Division (PSD) is hiring a Local Implementation Unit Manager to work in PSD's Children and Youth Branch.

This position exists to provide oversight and management of all Local Implementation Unit programs and initiatives, which specifically includes Health Care Program for Children with Special Needs (HCP) care coordination, HCP specialty clinics and medical home local systems building.  Responsibilities include HCP program management, including establishing the strategic direction for the program; oversight of the unit budget, which includes federal dollars and state general funds; identifies and interprets public health data to identify health outcomes/long-term objectives to be achieved through local interventions targeting children and youth; and  oversees evaluation of programs and effectiveness of interventions according to evaluation component of work plan, in collaboration with the Epidemiology, Planning and Evaluation Branch. Supervisory duties include assigning work based upon the Unit's work plan and related project management plans; communicate clear expectations to the Unit’s employees around performance and professional conduct, including attendance, workplace behavior, communication and competencies, and review with employees on a regular basis; monitor completion and quality of work through regular review and feedback with the employee, using relevant project management plans; model effective techniques for clear, consistent and respectful communication; complete performance planning according to CDPHE procedures and timelines, assisting employees in identifying goals for professional growth; complete performance evaluation according to CDPHE procedures and timelines; address problems or conflicts in a timely, fair and effective manner and alert manager to pending or potential supervisory concerns; and use effective rewards and recognition to inspire performance.
