
In this special presentation being held on Friday, April 20th, social entrepreneur Jill Vialet, will talk about how to increase an organization’s competitiveness, grow intentionally while staying focused on the mission and strengthening its financial health in the current economic climate. Jill Vialet is the founder of Playworks. Vialet, named one of the 30 most influential social entrepreneurs by Forbes Magazine, has worked for more than 25 years in the nonprofit sector, focusing her entrepreneurial skills on growing two successful nonprofit organizations.
Vialet launched Playworks in 1996 with two schools in Berkeley, California. Currently the organization brings play and physical activities to 250 low-income, schools in 15 cities with plans to expand to 27 cities. In 2004 Vialet was selected as an Ashoka Fellow.
Vialet is a frequent public speaker, addressing groups that include TEDx San Francisco, Harvard Business School's Women in Business Conference and the National Association of Elementary School Principals.
