Announcing Smokefree Español and SmokefreeTXT en Español

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is pleased to announce the launch of Smokefree Español and SmokefreeTXT en Español—proven cessation strategies and support for Spanish-speaking smokers.

NCI Spanish-language cessation resources are available online and on the go:
  • Smokefree Español—A website for evidence-based smoking cessation information and interactive tools especially for Spanish-speakers (http://espanol.smokefree.gov)
  • SmokefreeTXT en Español—A free text messaging program developed by smoking cessation experts that provides 24/7 encouragement, advice, and tips to help Spanish-speaking smokers quit for good
Users can enroll in the free texting service by signing up online at http://go.usa.gov/Plr or by texting LIBRE to 47848.
