Eliminating Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities

Group Discussion with Dr. Brian K. Gibbs

Dr. Brian K. Gibbs is Associate Dean for Diversity and Cultural Competency and Chief Diversity Officer at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He has launched a number of initiatives, including Urban Health Radio Program, Cultural Competency Needs Assessment and community forums on blood donation and sickle cell disease, violence prevention, renal disease and kidney donation, and ethnic skin and hair conditions in the African American community.

Previously, at the Harvard School of Public Health, Dr. Gibbs completed research on cancer clinical trials and health disparities. He served on several prestigious boards focused on community and minority health and health disparities.
