Statewide Convening on LGBT Youth: March 10, 2012

Mark your calendar now for the Statewide Convening on LGBT Youth:
March 10, 2012 in Boulder!

Join other teachers, administrators, counselors, social workers, public health and educators from across the state at a convening for professionals who work with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) young people.

Hosted by One Colorado and the National Education Policy Center --- and co-chaired by Governor John Hickenlooper --- this day-long event will give participants access to the latest tools and resources for serving and addressing the unique needs of LGBT young people.

Whether you're interested in bullying prevention and intervention, health and wellness, or law and policy, the Statewide Convening on LGBT Youth will provide you with an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the concerns of LGBT young people and develop skills to meet their needs.

Registration will open soon --- but please mark your calendars and plan to take advantage of this important event on March 10, 2012 at the University of Colorado -- Boulder.

Rose Barcklow and Bonnie Moya of the Prevention Services Division at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment are members of the Statewide Convening on LGBT Youth steering committee. Together they promote a public health approach to the development of youth, youth-serving professionals, and families by ensuring that the root causes of violence are addressed through educational content.
