MCH County Data Sets and Health Status Report Survey Results

Many of you may recall the survey MCH ran from November 2010 through June 2011 on the MCH Website that was geared to assess who uses the Health Status report that is posted on the Internet, how often, as well as, how useful the 2010 MCH Health Status Report was to users.

Population- and Infrastructure-level Approaches
This survey was the first step in the MCH Program's multi-phase process to better understand the contributing factors leading to agencies’ success in using population-based and infrastructure-level strategies as well to better understand the barriers. The purpose of this process is to inform future capacity-building opportunities as well as future funding parameters. This survey is the first step in an exploration process.

The second step is to follow up, based on survey responses, with agencies from whom we would like to learn more about agencies’ successful transition moving towards implementing population-based and infrastructure-level strategies. MCH staff anticipates conducting several interviews over the summer with key local health agency staff.

Specific findings from both the survey and the interviews will be made available to all local health agency partners in late Fall 2011 via email and will also be posted here and on the MCH website but an initial brief on the Health Status Report Survey is now posted online as well as an initial brief on the County Data Sets and County Comparison Maps website.

You can read the 2011 (and past year) MCH Health Status Reports online.
