Volunteer Info - Family Night at the Colfax Community Network

Natalie Gregory, with the Center for Healthy Families and Communities, is organizing the volunteers for the Family Night at the Colfax Community Network and wanted to pass on the following info for organizing the volunteer effort:

Family Night Volunteers (set-up, serve the food and clean-up)
DATE: Thursday July 28th
TIME: 5:00 – 8:00pm
PLACE: Colfax Community Network
ADDRESS:  1585 Kingston St. Aurora, CO 80010
CONTACT:  Natalie Gregory, cell  303-506-7511

Please plan to arrive at Colfax Community Network at 5pm.  Families typically arrive at 6:00pm and that advance work is essential to making sure everything is set-up and ready to go by 6:00pm.

Food Preparation Volunteers
If you volunteer to prepare food, the Women’s Bean Project food items will be available for you to pickup from Natalie Gregory on Monday afternoon July 25th.  Your food choices include: bean soups, cornbread, chocolate chip cookies, or tea.

There are two ways to donate:
  • Monetary Donations are being accepted to cover the costs of the food, eating utensils, raffle items, etc.  The funds we collect will pay for the purchase of the food from The Women’s Bean Project a social enterprise dedicated to helping women break the cycle of poverty and unemployment, and developing work skills, self-confidence, and responsibility. Additional funds will be used to purchase the other items necessary for Family Night.
  • Clothing, Hygiene Products and Childrens Toys.  There is a designated area at the Colfax Community Network for you to bring items and families can then select what they need.  We encourage you to bring with you new items and/or items in good condition.
